Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow via generic_unpack. An attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted EXR file that exploits improper validation of user-supplied data, leading to a heap-based buffer overflow.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by exercising caution and avoiding the opening of untrusted EXR files.
