CWE-190  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade openexr to version 3.4.10 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Overflow or Wraparound in the ht_undo_impl() function due to accumulation of a bytes-per-line value (bpl) using a 32-bit signed integer without overflow protection. An attacker can cause a heap out-of-bounds write by supplying a crafted EXR file with a large number of channels and maximum width, resulting in integer overflow and subsequent memory corruption.
