CWE-304  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

A fix was pushed into the master branch but not yet published.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Critical Step in Authentication due to improper enforcement of security constraints on PKCS#11-hosted private keys. An attacker can bypass intended security restrictions by exploiting the issue where only the first key is constrained, even when multiple keys are returned from a PKCS#11 token. This is only exploitable if destination constraints are defined and multiple keys are returned from a PKCS#11 token.

Note: Use of regular private keys, FIDO tokens and unconstrained keys are unaffected.
