CWE-476  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade openssl to version 3.0.19, 3.3.6, 3.4.4, 3.5.5, 3.6.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference in the PKCS12_item_decrypt_d2i_ex() function, when processing a malformed PKCS#12 file. An attacker who can supply such a file to a vulnerable application can cause denial of service. There is no evidence that this can be exploited to achieve code execution.
