Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the avi_parse_input_file process. An attacker can cause application crashes or leak sensitive information from memory by convincing a user to open a specially crafted AVI file containing a truncated header sub-chunk.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding opening untrusted AVI files and exercising caution when handling AVI files from unknown or suspicious sources.
