CVE-2012-2737  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-362  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 accountsservice to version 0.6.21-6 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream accountsservice package and not the accountsservice package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The user_change_icon_file_authorized_cb function in /usr/libexec/accounts-daemon in AccountsService before 0.6.22 does not properly check the UID when copying an icon file to the system cache directory, which allows local users to read arbitrary files via a race condition.
