CVE-2011-2500  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 nfs-utils to version 1:1.2.4-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream nfs-utils package and not the nfs-utils package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The host_reliable_addrinfo function in support/export/hostname.c in nfs-utils before 1.2.4 does not properly use DNS to verify access to NFS exports, which allows remote attackers to mount filesystems by establishing crafted DNS A and PTR records.
