CWE-310  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 openssl to version 0.9.8a-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream openssl package and not the openssl package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

The Diffie-Hellman key-exchange implementation in OpenSSL 0.9.8, when FIPS mode is enabled, does not properly validate a public parameter, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain the shared secret key by modifying network traffic, a related issue to CVE-2011-1923.
