CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 prosody to version 0.9.4-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream prosody package and not the prosody package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

Prosody before 0.9.4 does not properly restrict the processing of compressed XML elements, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption) via a crafted XMPP stream, aka an "xmppbomb" attack, related to core/portmanager.lua and util/xmppstream.lua.
