CWE-347  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 python-ecdsa to version 0.13-3+deb10u1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python-ecdsa package and not the python-ecdsa package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

A flaw was found in all python-ecdsa versions before 0.13.3, where it did not correctly verify whether signatures used DER encoding. Without this verification, a malformed signature could be accepted, making the signature malleable. Without proper verification, an attacker could use a malleable signature to create false transactions.
