CWE-306  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:10 xscreensaver to version 5.14-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream xscreensaver package and not the xscreensaver package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:10 relevant fixed versions and status.

xscreensaver before 5.14 crashes during activation and leaves the screen unlocked when in Blank Only Mode and when DPMS is disabled, which allows local attackers to access resources without authentication.
