CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 apt to version 0.9.12 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream apt package and not the apt package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

The apt-get download command in APT before 1.0.9 does not properly validate signatures for packages, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted package.
