CWE-310  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 claws-mail to version 3.10.1-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream claws-mail package and not the claws-mail package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

plugins/rssyl/feed.c in Claws Mail before 3.10.0 disables the CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST check for CN or SAN host name fields, which makes it easier for remote attackers to spoof servers and conduct man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks.
