CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 dbus to version 1.2.1-4 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream dbus package and not the dbus package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

The dbus_signature_validate function in the D-bus library (libdbus) before 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application abort) via a message containing a malformed signature, which triggers a failed assertion error.
