CVE-2011-1836  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 ecryptfs-utils to version 92-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ecryptfs-utils package and not the ecryptfs-utils package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

utils/ecryptfs-recover-private in ecryptfs-utils before 90 does not establish a subdirectory with safe permissions, which might allow local users to bypass intended access restrictions via standard filesystem operations during the recovery process.
