CWE-667  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:11 mariadb-10.5 to version 1:10.5.18-0+deb11u1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream mariadb-10.5 package and not the mariadb-10.5 package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:11 relevant fixed versions and status.

In MariaDB before 10.9.2, compress_write in extra/mariabackup/ds_compress.cc does not release data_mutex upon a stream write failure, which allows local users to trigger a deadlock.
