How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:12 konversation to version 0.15-3 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream konversation package and not the konversation package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:12 relevant fixed versions and status.

The Quick Connection dialog in Konversation 0.15 inadvertently uses the user-provided password as the nickname instead of the user-provided nickname when connecting to the IRC server, which could leak the password to other users.
