CWE-295  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:12 pgbouncer to version 1.16.1-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream pgbouncer package and not the pgbouncer package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:12 relevant fixed versions and status.

When PgBouncer is configured to use "cert" authentication, a man-in-the-middle attacker can inject arbitrary SQL queries when a connection is first established, despite the use of TLS certificate verification and encryption. This flaw affects PgBouncer versions prior to 1.16.1.
