CVE-2016-9104 Open this link in a new tabHow to fix?
Upgrade Debian:12
qemu
to version 1:2.8+dfsg-1 or higher.
NVD Description
Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu
package and not the qemu
package as distributed by Debian
.
See How to fix?
for Debian:12
relevant fixed versions and status.
Multiple integer overflows in the (1) v9fs_xattr_read and (2) v9fs_xattr_write functions in hw/9pfs/9p.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allow local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service (QEMU process crash) via a crafted offset, which triggers an out-of-bounds access.
