CWE-22  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:12 ruby-zip to version 1.2.0-1.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ruby-zip package and not the ruby-zip package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:12 relevant fixed versions and status.

The Zip::File component in the rubyzip gem before 1.2.1 for Ruby has a directory traversal vulnerability. If a site allows uploading of .zip files, an attacker can upload a malicious file that uses "../" pathname substrings to write arbitrary files to the filesystem.
