CWE-203  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:13 rhonabwy to version 1.1.13-2 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rhonabwy package and not the rhonabwy package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:13 relevant fixed versions and status.

In Rhonabwy through 1.1.13, HMAC signature verification uses a strcmp function that is vulnerable to side-channel attacks, because it stops the comparison when the first difference is spotted in the two signatures. (The fix uses gnutls_memcmp, which has constant-time execution.)
