CWE-189  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:13 systemtap to version 1.6-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream systemtap package and not the systemtap package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:13 relevant fixed versions and status.

SystemTap 1.4, when unprivileged (aka stapusr) mode is enabled, allows local users to cause a denial of service (divide-by-zero error and OOPS) via a crafted ELF program with DWARF expressions that are not properly handled by a stap script that performs stack unwinding (aka backtracing).
