CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:13 tor to version 0.2.1.29-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream tor package and not the tor package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:13 relevant fixed versions and status.

The tor_realloc function in Tor before 0.2.1.29 and 0.2.2.x before 0.2.2.21-alpha does not validate a certain size value during memory allocation, which might allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via unspecified vectors, related to "underflow errors."
