CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:14 rsyslog to version 3.18.6-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream rsyslog package and not the rsyslog package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:14 relevant fixed versions and status.

The ACL handling in rsyslog 3.12.1 to 3.20.0, 4.1.0, and 4.1.1 does not follow $AllowedSender directive, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and spoof log messages or create a large number of spurious messages.
