CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:14 runc to version 0.1.0+dfsg-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream runc package and not the runc package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:14 relevant fixed versions and status.

libcontainer/user/user.go in runC before 0.1.0, as used in Docker before 1.11.2, improperly treats a numeric UID as a potential username, which allows local users to gain privileges via a numeric username in the password file in a container.
