CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:8 chromium-browser to version 34.0.1847.116-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream chromium-browser package and not the chromium-browser package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

The UnescapeURLWithOffsetsImpl function in net/base/escape.cc in Google Chrome before 34.0.1847.116 does not properly handle bidirectional Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs), which makes it easier for remote attackers to spoof URLs via crafted use of right-to-left (RTL) Unicode text.
