CWE-276  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:8 dracut to version 020-1.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream dracut package and not the dracut package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

dracut.sh in dracut, as used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Fedora 16 and 17, and possibly other products, creates initramfs images with world-readable permissions, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information.
