CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:8 libcloud to version 0.5.0-1.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream libcloud package and not the libcloud package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:8 relevant fixed versions and status.

Apache Libcloud before 0.11.1 uses an incorrect regular expression during verification of whether the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via a crafted certificate.
