How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:9 ldm to version 2:2.2.18-2+deb9u1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream ldm package and not the ldm package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

LTSP LDM through 2.18.06 allows fat-client root access because the LDM_USERNAME variable may have an empty value if the user's shell lacks support for Bourne shell syntax. This is related to a run-x-session script.
