CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:9 sudo to version 1.8.15-1.1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream sudo package and not the sudo package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:9 relevant fixed versions and status.

sudoedit in Sudo before 1.8.15 allows local users to gain privileges via a symlink attack on a file whose full path is defined using multiple wildcards in /etc/sudoers, as demonstrated by "/home///file.txt."
