CWE-125  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable binaryen to version 66-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream binaryen package and not the binaryen package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

A heap-based buffer over-read was discovered in wasm::WasmBinaryBuilder::processFunctions() in wasm/wasm-binary.cpp (when calling wasm::WasmBinaryBuilder::getFunctionIndexName) in Binaryen 1.38.22. A crafted input can cause segmentation faults, leading to denial-of-service, as demonstrated by wasm-opt.
