CWE-327  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable cyrus-imapd to version 3.4.2-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream cyrus-imapd package and not the cyrus-imapd package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

Cyrus IMAP before 3.4.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (multiple-minute daemon hang) via input that is mishandled during hash-table interaction. Because there are many insertions into a single bucket, strcmp becomes slow. This is fixed in 3.4.2, 3.2.8, and 3.0.16.
