CWE-200  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable putty to version 0.63-10 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream putty package and not the putty package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

The (1) ssh2_load_userkey and (2) ssh2_save_userkey functions in PuTTY 0.51 through 0.63 do not properly wipe SSH-2 private keys from memory, which allows local users to obtain sensitive information by reading the memory.
