NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream putty package and not the putty package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

PuTTY 0.53b and earlier does not clear logon credentials from memory, including plaintext passwords, which could allow attackers with access to memory to steal the SSH credentials.
