NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream python-rencode package and not the python-rencode package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

The rencode package through 1.0.6 for Python allows an infinite loop in typecode decoding (such as via ;\x2f\x7f), enabling a remote attack that consumes CPU and memory.
