CWE-20  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Debian:unstable tor to version 0.2.5.11-1 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream tor package and not the tor package as distributed by Debian. See How to fix? for Debian:unstable relevant fixed versions and status.

Tor before 0.2.4.26 and 0.2.5.x before 0.2.5.11 does not properly handle pending-connection resolve states during periods of high DNS load, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and daemon exit) via crafted packets.
