How to fix?

Upgrade directxtk12_uwp to version 2026.5.8.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Overflow or Wraparound via the SpriteFont file loading process. An attacker can execute arbitrary code by providing a specially crafted .spritefont file that triggers a 32-bit integer overflow during multiplication. This is only exploitable if the application is built for x86 or ARM architectures and processes untrusted or user-supplied .spritefont files.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring that only trusted .spritefont files are used and not accepting user-provided or network-downloaded files.
