CVE-2024-49755  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-287  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Duende.IdentityServer to version 7.0.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Authentication due to insufficient validation of the cnf claim in DPoP access tokens. An attacker can use leaked DPoP access tokens at local API endpoints without possessing the private key for signing proof tokens.

Note:

This is only exploitable if IdentityServer implementations are using the local APIs feature and have explicitly enabled DPoP for local APIs.
