How to fix?

Upgrade System.Security.Cryptography.Xml to version 8.0.3, 9.0.15, 10.0.7, 11.0.0-preview.3.26207.106 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Infinite loop in the EncryptedXml class. An attacker can cause an infinite loop and exhaust system resources by submitting specially crafted XML data.

Note:

The patch in version 10.0.6 introduced a regression and users are strongly advised to upgrade to 10.0.7. Regression discussion. While investigating regression, a Critical security issue CVE-2026-40372 was discovered and patched in version 10.0.7. 8.0.x and 9.0.x packages are not affected
