CWE-264  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade Echo:latest qemu to version 1:2.3+dfsg-5 or higher.

NVD Description

Note: Versions mentioned in the description apply only to the upstream qemu package and not the qemu package as distributed by Echo. See How to fix? for Echo:latest relevant fixed versions and status.

Xen 3.3.x through 4.5.x does not properly restrict write access to the host MSI message data field, which allows local x86 HVM guest administrators to cause a denial of service (host interrupt handling confusion) via vectors related to qemu and accessing spanning multiple fields.
