Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Unintended Proxy or Intermediary ('Confused Deputy') in the httpapi.RequestHost process. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive data by sending requests with a crafted X-Forwarded-Host header, which is trusted over the real Host header, allowing cross-app data access when subdomain app routing is enabled and the upstream proxy does not strip the header. This is only exploitable if subdomain app routing (wildcard hostname) is enabled, a victim visits the attacker's shared app, and the deployment's upstream proxy does not strip X-Forwarded-Host.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by placing an upstream reverse proxy that strips or overwrites X-Forwarded-Host on untrusted requests.
