Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Insufficient Verification of Data Authenticity in the CRI checkpoint import. An attacker can cause arbitrary code execution by crafting a checkpoint image that forces the system to pull a malicious image and assign it an arbitrary local tag, leading to the execution of attacker-controlled code under the victim pod's identity when other pods use the poisoned tag with an IfNotPresent or Never pull policy.
