The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in the applyNaive function in pkg/archive/tar.go, where each .wh..wh..opq entry triggers a full filepath.Walk of the containing directory with no record of directories already processed and no descent pruning once a subtree has been removed. An attacker can force superlinear unpack times and sustained CPU use by publishing an image layer that repeats opaque directory markers over a deep tree, which delays container startup even though the compressed layer is small. Reaching the condition requires the host to pull or import the image, and under an orchestrator that caps concurrent image pulls, such as Kubernetes, the long running operations also consume pull slots needed by unrelated workloads.
