CWE-337  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/coredns/coredns/plugin/loop to version 1.14.2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Predictable Seed in Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) in the loop plugin during self-test on server startup. An attacker can cause the DNS server to crash by sending specially crafted DNS queries that exploit the use of a predictable pseudo-random number generator for generating secret query names, triggering a fatal error handler that terminates the process.
