CVE-2026-54481  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-295  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/go-gitea/gitea/modules/private to version 1.27.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation due to the internal API HTTP client hardcoding InsecureSkipVerify to true in the TLS configuration, which disables certificate validation for outbound HTTPS connections. An attacker can intercept internal API requests and capture the high-privilege authentication token by performing a man-in-the-middle attack on the internal network segment.

Note: This is only exploitable if internal communication is configured over HTTPS to a non-loopback target in a split-host or multi-pod deployment.
