Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to External Control of File Name or Path via the uri.Open function. An attacker can read arbitrary files from the server filesystem by supplying a crafted archive with a release.yml containing a DownloadURL field using the file:// scheme.
Note: This is only exploitable if the attacker can supply an archive to the restore-repo command executed by an operator or administrator.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting execution of the restore-repo command to fully trusted operators, manually auditing archive contents before restoration, and reviewing existing release attachments for unexpected or sensitive filenames.
