CWE-77  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pkg/kubelet to version 1.29.13, 1.30.9, 1.31.5, 1.32.1 or higher.

Overview

github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pkg/kubelet is a kubelet package.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary Command Injection via the nodes/*/logs/query API. An attacker with the ability to query a node's '/logs' endpoint can execute arbitrary commands on the host by sending crafted requests to this endpoint.

Notes:

  1. This is only exploitable if the node is a Windows worker node;

  2. To detect whether this vulnerability has been exploited, you can examine your cluster's audit logs to search for node 'logs' queries with suspicious inputs.
