How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/minio/minio/cmd to version RELEASE.2025-10-15T17-29-55Z or higher.

Overview

github.com/minio/minio/cmd is an open source object storage server compatible with Amazon S3 APIs.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Incorrect Authorization via the isAllowedBySessionPolicyForServiceAccount() and isAllowedBySessionPolicy() functions that incorrectly rely on the DenyOnly argument. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to resources and perform actions beyond their intended permissions by bypassing session policy restrictions when creating new service accounts for the same user.

##Workaround This issue can be mitigated by:

  1. Audit Service Accounts: Review all service accounts created by non-admin accounts;
  2. Revoke Suspicious Accounts: Delete any service accounts that may have been created through exploitation;
  3. Review Access Logs: Check for unauthorized access to sensitive buckets.
