Overview
github.com/nats-io/nats-server/v2/server is an A simple, secure and performant communications system for digital systems, services and devices.
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Credential Exposure through the MQTT authentication processing in processClientOrLeafAuthentication and mqttParseConnect. An attacker can expose MQTT passwords via monitoring endpoints by observing connections with MQTT user/password credentials.
Workaround
This vulnerability can be mitigated by ensuring monitoring endpoints are adequately secured and not exposed to the Internet or untrusted networks.
