How to fix?

Upgrade github.com/openbao/openbao/builtin/credential/userpass to version 2.3.2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Information Exposure via the pathLogin function in the userpass/path_login.go file. An attacker can determine whether a username exists by measuring the response time difference between authentication attempts for existing and non-existing users.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by using an alternative authentication method or applying rate limiting quotas to restrict the number of authentication requests within a given period.
